Aniello Miguel Orlando (Romeo) - Birth 1863
From 1830 to 1962 the so-called European civil status registers were established in two copies according to the metropolitan rule. At the time of Algeria's accession to independence, these registers remained in Algeria where they are kept. The Department of Foreign Affairs undertook, between 1967 and 1972, microfilm reproduction of part of these records, about two-thirds. Some municipalities are totally missing and others are incomplete. It is these microfilms that have been digitized. On the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, it was established in 2003 an alphabetical database of acts from 1830 to 1904, with names and surnames, which facilitates access to digitized images.
